Troy Slaten serves as the managing attorney of our criminal defense practice
at Floyd, Skeren & Kelly, LLP. He is an associate attorney at our
firm, and works out of our Beverly Hills headquarters. Attorney Slaten
has a valuable background of working as a former prosecutor for the Los
Angeles District Attorney's Office. In his role at the DA's office,
he prosecuted a broad spectrum of misdemeanor and felony cases, such as
theft, drug, and sex crimes, and complex fraud cases. His knowledge of
the prosecution side of the criminal justice system serves as a great
advantage when he is handling criminal defense DUI cases.
Mr. Slaten has built an impressive professional reputation, having received

Due to his high level of legal acumen, Mr. Slaten has appeared on the CNN's
HLN "On the Case" with Vinnie Politan to discuss current legal
topics. He regularly attends seminars in order to remain current within
his areas of practice, and regularly lectures on matters related to DUI
and criminal defense.
Attorney Slaten has advanced training in the area of DUI defense, as he
is certified in the administration of field sobriety tests (FSTs) by the
National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the
International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). He also has an Alco-Sensor
Preliminary Alcohol Screening (PAS) certification. The Alco-Sensor PAS
is a portable breath testing device that is commonly used by law enforcement
when testing drivers for impairment.
Mr. Slaten obtained his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University School
of Law. During his time at law school, he was an active participant on
the honors Trial Team, and he won awards at many competitions. Prior to
law school, Mr. Slaten graduated from the University of California, Los
Angeles with a bachelor's degree in English Literature, with honors.
Today, Attorney Slaten uses his wealth of knowledge and experience in DUI
defense and criminal defense to help his clients protect their futures.
He is licensed to practice law in California's state courts, as well
as in the District of Columbia (D.C.).
